Vascular Anastomosis Workshop |

|
A new innovation to the teaching programme for AVT2009, the vascular anastomosis workshop at AVT2010 is again designed to provide trainees with the fundamental theory and hands-on practical tutoring of sutured vascular anastomosis.
The first component of this workshop features a series of summary lectures on basic theory. All AVT candidates – final and early year trainees – are expected to attend these lectures. Following this, the hands-on practical anastomosis workshop is designed for early year trainees. This hands-on component of the workshop features a series of demonstrations followed by candidates’ performance of sutured end-to-side, side-to-side and patch angioplasty anastomoses with the mentoring and tutoring performed by vascular surgeons. At the completion of the workshop, an assessment of theoretical knowledge and technical performance of sutured vascular anastomosis of each workshop participant will be performed. |
