Norm Eizenberg is Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at Monash University and Professor (Adjunct) at University of Notre Dame, Sydney. He was previously at Melbourne University, where he coordinated teaching of anatomy, including to surgical trainees, for more than 25 years.

Norm was a member of the Faculty of Medicine curriculum review committee and is currently an examiner of anatomy for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as well as for the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiology.

His major areas of research and scholarship are in medical education (including student learning of anatomy) and in anatomical variations (including their surgical implications).

Norm is also a general medical practitioner and the project leader of ANATOMEDIA (see www.anatomedia.com ). He is the recipient of a Universitas 21 Teaching Fellowship (for “excellence in teaching and educational innovation”) and of a “Meritorious Service Award” from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

All modules of ANATOMEDIA, so far, have received national or international awards, including most recently, the Australian Publishers Association “Best teaching & learning package in tertiary education” 2008, for the book “General Anatomy; principles and applications”.
