Peter is an accredited vascular and endovascular surgeon and is a director and reporting surgeon at Adelaide Vascular. He began consultant practice in Adelaide in 2001 with appointments at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Ashford Hospital, St Andrew’s Hospital and Calvary Group of Hospitals. He is also a visiting specialist at several regional (Mt Barker, Stirling and Riverland Regional) hospitals. Peter’s areas of interest include endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, distal bypass grafting for limb salvage, carotid interventions (stenting and endarterectomy) and targeted carotid screening for stroke prevention.

Peter is involved in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training at TQEH. In his capacity as Visiting Medical Specialist at Mount Barker DSM and Stirling District Hospitals, he is involved in the teaching of students from Flinders Medical Centre attached to rural rotations in these areas.  Since 2001 he has been the Convenor of the Adelaide Vascular Trials – a national pre-fellowship examination course for candidates sitting the FRACS Vascular.  He is chairman of the Board of AVT (AUS) Pty Ltd which runs the Adelaide Vascular Trials and since 2010 has been the Secretary of the The Royal Australian College Surgeons SA State Committee. He convened Vascular 2008 – the Annual Spring Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Vascular Surgery.  He was elected to the Board of Vascular Surgery in 2009 and is currently on the Executive of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Vascular Surgery. He is Convenor of the Tripartite Annual Scientific Meeting 2011 of the State Committees of the RACS SA, NT and WA.
